Hi, could you help me with " working 1 double crochet in each of the 3 outermost treble crochets along the side of square"?

Dear Ekaterina, the 3 outermost treble crochet are the first and last 3 treble crochets of the side of the square. So you work 1 double crochet in each of these stitches. Happy crocheting!

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- COLORS: Switch color on every round in diagram A.1 as follows: Work chain stitch ring and 1st round in the color goldenrod. Work 2nd round in the color pomegranate. Work 3rd round in the color medium pink. Work 4th round in the color light blue. Work the rest of the slipper in the color navy blue. CROCHET INFORMATION: Round/Row begins with 3 chain stitches/1 chain stitch that replaces first double crochet/single crochet on round/row. Finish round with 1 slip stitch in 3rd/1st chain stitch from beginning of round. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 single crochet as follows: Insert hook in next single crochet, pull yarn through, insert hook in next single crochet, pull yarn through, make 1 yarn over and pull yarn through all 3 loops on hook. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- SLIPPERS – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Piece begins by working 1 granny square, then work the rest of the slipper from the square. GRANNY SQUARE: Use hook size 4 MM = US 6 and color goldenrod. Work 6 chain stitches and form 1 ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch. Read CROCHET INFORMATION and COLORS. Work diagram A.1. Fasten off when diagram has been worked. Square measures approx. 8 x 8 cm = 3⅛" x 3⅛". UNDER PIECE: Work back and forth along one of the sides marked with the letter A on diagram as follows: Begin with 1 single crochet around the corner, work 1 single crochet in every double crochet and 1 single crochet around every chain stitch along the side of square, finish with 1 single crochet around next corner = 17 single crochets. REMEMBER THE CROCHET GAUGE! Work single crochets back and forth over these stitches for 5-6-7 cm = 2"-2⅜"-2¾" (turn every row with 1 chain stitch). Cut and fasten the yarn. Repeat along the other side of square marked with the letter A. Then sew these parts together mid under foot - sew in front loop of last row with single crochets to avoid a chunky seam mid under foot. TOE: Read CROCHET INFO and work along the side of the square marked with the letter B on diagram as follows: Begin in the corner, work the same way as side A (= 17 single crochets), then work 19-21-23 single crochets along the rows under foot = 36-38-40 single crochets in total. Work in the round with single crochet for 5-6-7 round in total with 1 single crochet in every stitch. Then work 5 rounds while decreasing 6 stitches evenly on every round - read DECREASE TIP = 6-8-10 single crochets. Cut the thread, baste it up and down around the tip, pull the thread to tighten and fasten tightly. HEEL PIECE: Work back and forth as follows: Begin from the right side by working 1 single crochet in each of the 3 outermost double crochets along the side of square marked with the letter C, and 1 single crochet around chain space in the corner on the square, then work 20-22-24 single crochets along the rows under foot, then work 1 single crochet around the corner on square and 1 single crochet in each of the first 3 double crochets on square marked with the letter C = 28-30-32 single crochets. Work single crochets back and forth - AT THE SAME TIME on 3rd row increase 1 single crochet at the end of row by working 2 single crochets in last single crochet. Increase like this at the end of every row 6 times in total (i.e. 3 times in each side) = 34-36-38 single crochets. Continue with single crochets until the entire slipper measures approx. 22-24-27 cm = 8¾"-9½"-10⅝". Cut the thread, fold the slipper double and sew together edge to edge mid back on heel. EDGE: Start mid back at the seam. Work 2 rounds with single crochets in the color navy blue around the entire opening on slipper. Work another slipper the same way. |
