Bon crochet!

Bonjour , je viens de recevoir ma commande de Snow pour faire le sac au crochet au point popcorn; faut-il vraiment le faire avec un crochet no5 ? la laine est très grosse !!! Et commence-t-on en circulaire ou en va et viens ? merci pour vos réponse et bonne journée ;

Bon crochet!

I very much would love to make this but I can't make sense of the pattern, especially the notes about the first couple rows. I'm not an advanced crocheter but not a beginner and I am confused. Is there any way it could be rewritten and simplified please?
04.11.2016 - 15:28DROPS Design answered:
Dear Steph, bag is worked from bottom up, ie you will work a chain and crochet around the chain (in both sides of chains) in the round, as in the video below (video is showing technique, remember to follow the number of sts as stated in the pattern). Happy crocheting!

This is my all time favorite crochet pattern. I have made about 5 bags based on this one but varied the size. The last variation was of a baby crochet bag with a cap at the top edge, The shaping is so good on this bag.

Do you think that I could add handles that have rings on them? If so could you guide me in how to go about that. Also what are your thought about trying to crochet this bag with Lionbrand Thick and Quick?
19.12.2014 - 10:32DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Wiker, you can adapt pattern with other handles if you'd like to. Our yarn are available all around the world, please click here to find how to get them. Happy crocheting!

I made this bag in a cream color for the summer. It turned out beautifully and i have received so many compliments ! I have used it everyday and just throw it in the washer and dryer when it needs cleaning and it continues to look great. Now I plan to make another for the Fall in a different color . Thank you, Drops, for another fabulous pattern !

Ah, now I see... The bag begins with round one of the bag and not with the popcorn pattern. The way these instructions are presented make it a little confusing. Can't wait to start!

What am I supposed to make the popcorn pattern into? I think there is a round of sc missing from the very beginning.
02.02.2013 - 14:32DROPS Design answered:
Dear Angela, you first work in sc in the round until you have inc to 84 sc + 4 rounds with 1 sc in each sc. the 1st round of Pop-corn pattern is worked in the sc round below. Happy crocheting!

A very cute bag. Crocheted one up in an evening. A few things left out of pattern instructions: sc finishing around the strap and minor things like that. But all's well that ends well. Good pattern.

DROPS 110-7 |

Crochet info: Replace first sc on round with 1 ch and first dc on round with 3 ch. Finish round with 1 sl st in first/third ch from beg of round. Popcorn-pattern: Round 1: 3 ch (= 1 dc), 3 dc in the same st, pull hook out of loop, put hook in the first dc (the last of the 3 ch), then through loop from the last dc, make a YO and pull thread through both loops on hook (= 1 popcorn), * 2 ch, skip 2 sc, 4 dc in next sc, popcorn as described above *, repeat from *-*, and finish with 2 ch and 1 sl st in the first popcorn. Round 2: * 1 sc in popcorn, 2 sc in ch-loop *, repeat from *-*, and finish with 1 sl st in first sc from beg of round. Repeat round 1 and 2. Bag: Crochet from bottom up. Crochet 18 ch on crochet hook size 5 mm [H/8] with Snow. Round 1: Work sc along 1 side of ch-chain – work 2 sc in the first ch, then 1 sc in each of the next 16 ch and 4 sc in the last ch – insert a Marking Thread (MT) between these 4 sc = the side, continue round with 1 sc in each of the 16 ch from the other side and finish with 2 sc in the last ch (= 4 sc in this ch = the side. Insert a MT between these 4 sts. There are now 40 sc on round. Round 2 and subsequent rounds: See Crochet info! 1 sc in each sc from previous round, but work 2 sc in sc both sides of MT = 4 inc sc per round. Work 11 rounds like this = 84 sc on round. Now work 4 rounds with 1 sc in each sc without inc. Continue in Popcorn-pattern - see above. When popcorn pattern measures approx 9 cm [3½"] work 3 rounds with 1 sc in each sc and then work 1 round of popcorn pattern. Strap: Crochet up 7 dc on one side of bag and work 1 dc in each dc back and forth until strap measures approx 50 cm [19¾"]. Attach strap to the other side of bag. |
