This square with an intricate looking design is actually easy and uses only single and double crochet stitches. The square can be made in any size. It can be made small and joined together to make bags, cushion covers or baby blankets. It can be made as a large single square for a throw or an afghan. In my previous post I hade used the smallest version of this square to make a bag, You can view it here. I had joined slightly larger squares to make a cushion cover.

A pretty handbag with a unique design. This bag is made by making some lovely flower squares, joining them together and then working above and below the squares to create this elegant purse. I have made the base separately and attached to the bag. You can make this bag in any size. Make more squares for a bigger bag.

This cable stitch scarf would be a great one for men. Though it's not a beginner friendly pattern as it involves stitches worked around the posts (fptr) this stitch could be learned easily by an adventurous crocheter. Otherwise it's an easy 2-row repeat pattern.
