Sweetheart Cowl Crochet Pattern
The most important accessory is a smile, but after that, it’s all up to you. This sweetheart cowl is bound to become one of your go-to accessories on colder days.
You’ll love the whimsical pattern almost as much as how easy it is to follow. This crochet pattern is worked in the round, so brush up on those crochet skills before you begin. Speaking of brushing up on your crochet skills, I highly recommend checking out the Crochet Fundamentals class that will help you to polish and perfect your skills and techniques.

With a pattern this cute and unique, you’ll want to ditch your plain old scarves every time you see them hanging in your closet. You can choose to crochet with whatever color fits the outfit you have in mind. We’re envisioning how great it would look paired with some knee-high boots and layered under a winter coat.
While this design will have you wishing for chilly days, this cowl is also light enough to wear in warmer weather. Using bright colors can add a touch of spring to your everyday outfits. You might even want to make two, so you can rotate your wardrobe accordingly.

Now that you’ve made your sweetheart cowl, we want to see what you’ve got. Send us a picture before you flaunt your work, out in public. Once you’ve done that, browse for your next project. Since we know you’ve got a little taste for whimsy, might we suggest one of these circle vests?

I started this today and have about 7 rows done. I am concerned because the piece measures only 12 inches wide when laid out flat. I made sure my stitch count is correct, but the piece when placed around my neck seems very short.
I made sure that I am using the correct sized hook but can’t figure out why the length of the piece is not close to what is in the picture.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Hi, this cowl is the PERFECT length! Is there any way to get the circumference length – I want to make sure my length is the same as pictured. Thank you very much – I recently purchased some rainbow cotton yarn and am thinking this is the PERFECT pattern for it!
My “candied” yarn looks so much different that yours 🙁 much more purples and pastels.
On the “get the Ad-free printable PDF pattern here” link, https://ilovestitches.com/products/sweetheart-cowl-crochet-pattern, it lists 2 different yarns… color A and color B.
Perhaps the picture shown is in a different color than the one the designer originally made?
how many stitches do you start with… It appears the pattern starts with*pico, chain five… But I don’t see how many a chain to begin with? Any help would be great… Plus, are there any corrections to this pattern? Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful patterns… And looking at your four page patterns because I like to support people who provide free things… Is a testament to their kindness and their business acumen., thanks again, Andrea
Correction: to prior comment… for pay… Dang phone… Writes what it wants to LOL
