There are three styles of squares:

Solid: Ch 28, sc across. Rep in FLO for 20 rows.

Stripe: Work as solid, but follow the striping as indicated by each square.

Diagonal: Ch 2, 2sc in the second ch from hook. In FLO, inc in the first and last st in each row for a total of 17 rows. Decrease in first and last st in the following 17 rows while still working in FLO. Work stripes or solid as indicated by each square.

Note: Letter is column, # is row. When joining, each square is perpendicular to the one above it (ie, if the first square is laying with the 20th row up, the square below it should have the 20th row pointing right, then the one below that should point up again.) As in all projects that require multiple types of yarns, make sure that they are all the same type (acrylic, wool, etc.). Also, all squares are to be 7″. Your crocheting style may lead you to fewer stitches across or more rows. This is fine. Find your gauge and make sure your squares are all 7″.
